Fresh back from a four month photography hiatus after knee surgery, I began plotting on what I wanted to do with the work that I was creating, and the zines that I had bought from Hibiki Tokiwa from his Monthly NEWEROS series made me want to start a photo zine series of my own. And thus, The Raw was born.
From September 2021 through May 2022, every two months, I release 5 issues of The Raw before taking a break due to not see much of a return on what I was spending to have them printed. In January 2024, I brought back The Raw, and to this day have release 9 issues of the zine; what I’m calling my zine, but it’s more of a mini photo book.
After moving away from printing in bulk and selling the books through my site, shipping them myself, and going over to a Blurb store, I’ve been able to keep The Raw going without having to worrying about spending all of my money to have them printed. I’m trying to keep up with the bi-monthly release schedule, but that seems to be the difficult thing now. With that said, issue 10 may be a little late and not make the September 1st release. But you can still purchase copies of previous issues here.

Depending on how thing turn out over the next two weeks, issue 10 may be coming September 1st, and will feature either AJ or Devi. Stay tuned for that.
