I try to keep this set in the blog feed of this site any time I do a reboot because I love it so much.
Back in 2019, I invited a friend of mine to a Brother Ali and Evidence show, which she accepted. After the show, we went to get food, then spent the night attempting to watch a movie on Netflix on a phone because the cable in the hotel room sucked. The next morning, while she was taking a shower before we left the hotel, she yelled for me to come into the bathroom and to bring my camera. “You wanted to take some pictures?” And that’s what I did.
These aren’t the most artistic photographs in the world or by me, but I really love them because of how they came about: two friends hanging out and having fun. That’s what I love most about a lot of the shoots that I have, when it happens. And this is the best example of it.
I’m hoping to be able to make another shoot like this happen as organically as this one did. It would be a fun recurring theme to shoot.
These were taken with a Nikon FE with a 50mm lens on Ilford HP5 Plus pushed 3 stops. That’s for all of the nerds who care about that stuff.
